The Best Medicine
Well, I have not been feeling well this week. After dealing with this all week, I finally decided to take a sick day today and stay in bed. I need this day just to sleep and rest and get better. Around noon, my doorbell rang. Oh gosh, I surely didn't want to answer the door with the way I looked.....still in jammies, no makeup ofcourse, and just looking plain disheveled. The doorbell rang again. Oh sheesh! I decided to open the door and found my mail lady there with three packages. I had to sign for one that's for my hubby and two smaller ones for me.....Yippee!! These were things that I had ordered and were arriving so quickly. Oh my, just take a peek at the pics to see what was inside these two boxes. One was from Papier Valise and the other from an Etsy shop, Old Ways for These Days.
I still feel crummy, but this did make me feel a little better for the moment. AND, I am going to LOVE creating with these goodies just as soon as I am feeling better! Hope you are having a good day. And the next time you are feeling bad, I hope you have something that makes you feel better!
Hugs and Blessings,
Rebecca

Spur of the Moment!

Today was a teacher inservice day, no students. It was a very productive day and we got to go early. So, I decided on the spot to head to the antique mall. Kenny was still at work and the boys are in Gatlinburg. I am glad that I did. I found some things for my shop and some things for me.
So here are my goodies.....

Victorian Couple Planter: This is a beautiful turquoise blue.

Lamb Planter: I think little lambs are so sweet.

Vintage Baby Card (front): I will find something fun to use this for.

Vintage Baby Card: Here's the inside of this cute card.

Tomorrow is Saturday, so that means craft day! Stay tuned for new goodies that I make. Sunday is another Show and Tell day, so come on back to see this one. It's one of my FAVS!!

Alice In Wonderland

Don't you just love Alice In Wonderland? What a wonderful adventure she encounters. I remember the Alice In Wonderland book that I had as a child. My Mom would read to me almost every night. I remember before I could read, I'd get this book and just look at the pictures in awe! How fun it would have been to go down the rabbit hole with Alice! There is a line in the story that I recite often.....I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date.....because I am usually late wherever I go! I can start waaayyyyy early but I'm still usually late. LOL

I found this wonderful book at one of our antique shops in town. This book actually has two stories in it.....copyright 1963.....two years before I was born. It's one of those books that you turn over to the back cover and flip it over for another story. This one has The Five Peppers on the back, not a story I am familiar with. I loved this little book though! It is sitting on my little white stool in front of my white chipped paint chair.

Well, my sister received her package. I think she loved it! She took a picture and sent it to me. Here she is.....

Next, I'm posting the box that I made for my swap pal, Katie. I filled it will all kinds of trinkets and treasures for her. This is the box I made for Katie. I embellished a box that I found here locally. The box was covered in tissue paper art.
I added a sweet little bird, roses, millinery, jewels, etc. Then I packed it full as you can see below.

Here are some of the goodies......
flowers, vintage jewelry pieces, trinkets, flocked mushroom birds, bunny picks, plastic heart box, etc.
I embellished an old salt shaker and filled it with cotton candy pink glitter.

More.....sweet little flower fairy baby, ribbons, chipped paint heart hanger, cameos, and such.....

Now, here's a clue to the secret that I've been keeping for a while.....

Hmmmmm, what could it be?

SWAP TIME
Well, it's that time again.....time to swap.
This swap was called Junque In My Trunk. We were to create a box that was tooo pretty to open. Then we were to fill it with all kinds of wonderful things. Katie was my swap partner, and we decided to send our boxes at the same time. So on Tuesday, we each made a trip to our post office to mail off our packages to each other. We both received our packages today. I am surprised you didn't hear my squeals once again as I opened this wonderful package from Katie! Just take a look.....

Vintage pretties were packed oh so sweetly! Vintage rick rack, pink nut cups, cards, labels, carnival tickets just to name a few!
Sweet cards, beautiful buttons, pretty papers were sweetly tucked inside.
Vintage pins, sweet little baby card, beautiful ribbons, and a handmade headband made by Katie were more little treasures.
I love this pretty little sachet. Sooooo sweet!

Thank you Katie! I love all the wonderful goodies that you sent!
I'll post pictures of the box and goodies that I sent Katie tomorrow.
Until then, good night and sweet dreams!

Sugar Overload!
I got a couple of my orders through the mail. I was squealing with delight as I opened each one! I think I'm on a sugar high! hee hee First, I got these from Cheryl's Etsy shop, Valise Queen Aren't the little flower fairy babies precious! I have plans for these little sweeties! The shabby chipped paint hearts are awesome!! And sooooo much yummy pinkness!

These little stackable boxes came in three different shapes: round, star, and square. There are five different sizes, with these being the biggest.

These goodies came from Andrea's One Hundred Wishes. These velvety ribbons are awesome! There were also posies, paper lace, and much more. I even found one of her luscious signature lollipops!
Another Swap!
I just love swaps! I remember my very first one back at Valentine's Day. I was soooo nervous but it turned out wonderful. Actually, all of my swaps have been great!! I am so excited about this swap. It is Heather's Junque In My Trunk Swap. I am paired with Katie of Hazel's Vintage Pretties. We mailed each other's package off yesterday. I hope she loves all the "junque" that I sent her. I hope you enjoys the box that I created for her. I'll post everything when I know that she has received it.

I also sent my sister's package yesterday. I didn't take a pic of the charm necklace that I sent her, but here's what I made for her. So, MELISSA, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, DON'T GO ANY FURTHER UNTIL YOU RECEIVE YOUR PACKAGE!!
Here's her tussie mussie. I made two new ones. The pink one is hers. I hope she likes it! The other one is for someone else but I can't tell you who just yet, and No it isn't my swap pal.

Now, one more thing. I have a secret, I have a secret!
I'll let you know if a few days!!

Hope you have a beautiful evening!
Hugs and Blessings,
Rebecca

Show and Tell Sunday
*I am finally getting this posted*

Cerri and Analise have come up with a great idea! On Sundays, there will be a Show and Tell of a particular item. I missed out on last week's theme, Buttons, but wanted to get in on this week's vintage Millinery.
So, here's what little I have to show on this particular theme.....Enjoy!

This is my favorite hat....it is pink with roses, ofcourse! I adore my black hatbox!

I love the vintage millinery on this hat! Such sweet little flowers!

I think this hat is just fun!
In the background, you can see another one of my black hatboxes.

I especially love the sweet pin on it!

Here's the last hat that I have. I love RED!!

***For some reason, these pictures were lost when I uploaded this post. So here are the others that were suppose to be here too.*
