Shabby Chic and Mother's Day

Happy Pink Saturday
and
Happy Mother's Day!

Slowly, my home is becoming Shabby Chic.

Empty Nest is HARD, and there have been lots of tears, so I decided to take on a transformation of several rooms in our home to keep myself busy.

Shabby chic is making its way in...and I'm loving it!

I know, I keep showing my peonies...oh how I adore them!!!

I'm really lovin' some dried flowers!  I found a sweet shop on Etsy that has the best dried flowers!

Since all of my family was in town last weekend for hubby's graduation/pinning ceremony {I'm so proud of my Magna Cum Laude graduate!}, we celebrated Mother's Day early.

It was great to have both of my boys, my daughter-in-love, granddaughter, and the other son's girlfriend here.  After the pinning, everyone came to our home to celebrate!
Then after church on Sunday, we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch.

It was a great day!
It was a great weekend!
SO BLESSED!

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm thinking about and missing my Mother!  It hasn't gotten easier yet.

Let's take a Peek...
Empty Nest is soooo hard!  Especially when both of your children move out around the same time.  Now, I understand how my mother felt when I {the "baby" of the family} moved out.  However, I also understand the love that she had for my children and my sister's children.  Being a Gramma is the BEST!    I get sad when I go into one of the empty bedrooms that my sons use to have crammed with their things.    So, I decided to change rooms around.

The room that was my granddaughter's Daddy's bedroom is now going to be this magical pink room for her...our pretty little princess!  I have so many ideas dancing around in my head...many decisions to make.

However, the one decision that was easy was the colors...pink, aqua, and white.  I've already been collecting frilly, girly items in these colors for the room that is hers now when she visits.  The aqua candlesticks were purchased a while back from this sweet Etsy store.

However, this bedroom will be a much bigger area for her now so I have been having such fun shopping to make this room really special for my sweet girl.

I got this yummy shelf from this sweet shop.  I know I'll be visiting there again!
I found this adorable vintage bunny here.

Little girl rocking dolly with puppy snoozing on the floor beside her....I've always loved this sweet print, so when I found this framed one at our local antique mall,  I snatched it up!
PERFECTION

This pretty dolly will find a home amongst my other blinky-eyed dolls that my sweet girl loves to play with!  I found her here.

And my latest purchase {which is on his way} is this adorable vintage aqua bunny.

SO PRESH!!!!!
I found him here.  I can't wait until he arrives on Monday!
I look forward to when this room is ready, and I can unveil it to you...and even more...I can't wait until my sweet lil miss gets to see it for the first time!

Thank you, Beverly for hosting this weekly event for those of us that can't get enough PINK!

Pink Saturday Blessings!
Waving from Our Back Porch,

Super Spring Break!

Two weeks of Spring Break is quickly coming to an end, but it has been an awesome two weeks, indeed!

The first week, we had our sweet little granddaughter for five days.  We always meet halfway when we are getting her or giving her back.  We always meet in Chattanooga.

This time we met near the Aquarium.  First, we had lunch at Blue Plate...I had the most scrumptious blueberry pancakes!

Then we enjoyed some time in the area before we headed back.

The next few days were filled with picnics, dress-up, playing with dollies, "dancing at the ball:, singing, reading books, working puzzles, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, swinging, playing in the backyard, and LOTS of giggles.  Oh how I love this little girl!!!

When we took her back, I went home with them.  The next day was ADOPTION DAY!

We didn't need a piece of paper to make this little girl "ours" but it is finally official!
My son is officially this little cutie's Daddy!

We had a wonderful party at the park afterwards to celebrate this beautiful day!

Pink cupcakes were a must!
Kenny had class the next day so he didn't get to be there for this.

However, after class, he and Maggie Bleu headed to Knoxville to get me so that we could head over to Pigeon Forge where we rented a cabin for three glorious days!

In the mountains, relaxing in the hot tub, coffee on the porch overlooking the pond, being cozy in front of the fireplace, sleeping, exploring, eating, lounging...it was just what we both needed!

We had the BEST time!

Maggie had a blast, but was one tired puppy!  lol

On our way home, we met our son, DIL, and granddaughter for lunch.
So, that was week one of Spring Break.

My second week wasn't as busy.  I did get a massage and chiropractor visit in, lunch with my teaching team, and lunch with my sister, two great-nieces, and my Daddy.  Daddy will celebrate his 84th birthday on Monday!

Now, the weekend to relax before heading back to work on Monday.  I've got to get back on schedule, as I have stayed up way tooooo late during break.

Hope you are enjoying spring in your area!
Blessings,
