Getting Ready for the Red, White, and Blue

With a busy school year, Kenny finishing up classes and graduating, family in so many locations now, I haven't had a chance to do something like this in quite a while.  Since the boys have moved out, and have families of their own, it's just Kenny and me in this empty nest.  Our oldest is not too far away, so we get to see them often.  However, with my other son and his sweet little family further away, their work schedules, etc., we don't get to see them as often as I'd like.
Anyway, even though it might just be the two of us celebrating the 4th at our house, I decided to decorate anyway.  [I set a place for my oldest son and his girlfriend, in hopes that they get to be here!]
I LOVE mixing/matching my place settings.
 I just think it's FUN!
[And I love using vintage sheets for tablecloths!]
It's just a small, quaint little setting, but that's all the two of us [ but hopefully 4 of us, at least] need.  Our backdoor neighbors always put on quite a fireworks show, so we can see them from our screened-in porch.  Simple but sweet, I think.

Today, I'm linking to Rednesday.  Head over and check out all the red that's being shared!
Happy 4th of July everyone!
Stay safe and have lots of FUN!
Blessings,
Rebecca

Window Seat

When I was younger, I wanted a window seat.  I haven't even thought about that in years...until I created a "window seat" without even trying.

I found this really cool bench at the antique mall.  I added some shimmery, ruffled fabric, and some seat cushions.  Voila' a window seat...and I love it!  {It's part of my shabby chic room makeover}.

Not In A Hurry!

Spring and bunnies go together...RIGHT?

RIGHT!

So that's why I am not in any hurry to put my bunnies away.

You know what a huge bunny collector I am anyway, so a bunny always has a place in my home...

...especially pretty bunnies like these!

Easter Decorating

Pastels...light...airy...breezy... Oh how I LOVE the springtime!  Good-bye heavy drapes, thick fluffy blankets, and HELLO sheers, crisp, cool, sheets, light covers!

Everything is anew...tulips, daffodils, bunnies, chicks...oh, I could go on and on!  I LOVE bunnies, chicks, and the Easter Bunny!!!

However, to me, Easter isn't just about bunnies and chicks!  To me, it's about a savior who lived to die...but arose again!

HE LIVES, and HE did it all for ME and for YOU!!!  Thank you, Jesus!

I bought this sweet Easter pillow from Cheryl Dack { former Rosey Posey Confections} a few years ago.

And this sweet girly came from Saturday Finds a few years ago.

Last weekend, I was in a crafty mood, and came up with this.

The layers are created by clear dishes and colored grass.
Each layer is embellished with eggs, bunnies, and chicks...OH MY!  lol
It is the focal point of my long dining table.

It doesn't matter where my guests sit.  They can enjoy this layered Easter creation at any angle!

So then, I decided to use my small apothecary jars to create some small versions.
These tiny little chicks are too stinkin' CuTe!

Cute little white bunny!

Here are some random shots of bunnies...
This was my first Jim Shore item.  I couldn't resist this Mama bunny pushing her egg in the stroller...
BUT...

LOOK WHAT'S INSIDE THE EGG!
*insert BIG smiles here*

White bunny finds a good home on my tea cart.

Even spring treats and desserts are so PRETTY!!!  :)

Now, I'll leave you with the lyrics to one of my favorite songs.

I’m forgiven because You were forsaken,
I’m accepted, You were condemned.
I am alive and well, Your spirit is within me,
Because You died and rose again.

Amazing love,
How can it be
That You, my King, should die for me?
Amazing love,
I know it’s true.
It’s my joy to honor You,
In all I do, I honor You.

Happy Good Friday!
Happy Pink Saturday!
Happy Easter!

Let's take a Peek...
Empty Nest is soooo hard!  Especially when both of your children move out around the same time.  Now, I understand how my mother felt when I {the "baby" of the family} moved out.  However, I also understand the love that she had for my children and my sister's children.  Being a Gramma is the BEST!    I get sad when I go into one of the empty bedrooms that my sons use to have crammed with their things.    So, I decided to change rooms around.

The room that was my granddaughter's Daddy's bedroom is now going to be this magical pink room for her...our pretty little princess!  I have so many ideas dancing around in my head...many decisions to make.

However, the one decision that was easy was the colors...pink, aqua, and white.  I've already been collecting frilly, girly items in these colors for the room that is hers now when she visits.  The aqua candlesticks were purchased a while back from this sweet Etsy store.

However, this bedroom will be a much bigger area for her now so I have been having such fun shopping to make this room really special for my sweet girl.

I got this yummy shelf from this sweet shop.  I know I'll be visiting there again!
I found this adorable vintage bunny here.

Little girl rocking dolly with puppy snoozing on the floor beside her....I've always loved this sweet print, so when I found this framed one at our local antique mall,  I snatched it up!
PERFECTION

This pretty dolly will find a home amongst my other blinky-eyed dolls that my sweet girl loves to play with!  I found her here.

And my latest purchase {which is on his way} is this adorable vintage aqua bunny.

SO PRESH!!!!!
I found him here.  I can't wait until he arrives on Monday!
I look forward to when this room is ready, and I can unveil it to you...and even more...I can't wait until my sweet lil miss gets to see it for the first time!

Thank you, Beverly for hosting this weekly event for those of us that can't get enough PINK!

Pink Saturday Blessings!
