Project Friday

I love to decoupage!  This was always a favorite art project when I was a child.  Since it is officially spring, and Easter is on its way, I will be showing how to make decoupage Easter eggs...elegant style!
First, you need your "blank" canvas.....a  paper mache' egg or egg box.  After you have decided what colors and design you wish to make, gather all of your supplies.  (There is special glue out there for decoupage, but white glue works well too.  You can even water down your white glue a bit.)
Apply glue with your brush to the egg, and start putting on your paper.  (Once again, there is a lot to choose from when it comes to decoupage paper, but tissue paper, lightweight paper, and doilies work too!)  I am using paper lace and doilies.  I am using glitter glue as well.  Use your brush and fingers to gently push the paper over the egg, getting out any bubbles that might occur.  Let this dry before you move on to the next step.  If you decided on the egg box, you will decorate each part, making sure it will close when complete.
Begin to decorate your egg.  I have decided to make this egg to where it will be one piece.  Since my egg was in two pieces, I just glued it shut.  I have decoupaged some small flowers on the egg.
Embellish as you wish and ENJOY!

Actually, these three Elegant Eggs can be
found here in my shop.

Be sure to go by and visit Rosemarie who is the hostess for Project Fridays.  She has a great project to share with you today, as do many other talented bloggers.
Have a great decoupage day!

Happy First Day of Spring!
I love this season...flowers blooming...sweet little eggs in nests...warm, sunny days...gentle cool breezes...aahhh Spring!

Rebecca
