A Pink Post and Prayers Please

Good morning on this Pink Saturday. I am actually posting this Friday night because tomorrow is going to be a tough day. I will get to my pink post soon, but first, please say a prayer for us.

Here's why...
This most wonderfully amazing young man has been called home and is in the presence of our Lord. His name is Andrew, and he was 25 years old. Andrew is the son of our literacy leader at the school where I work. He was also an {amazing keyboardist and singer} in the Christian rock band, Raimah, with both of my sons. He was like a brother to my boys, along with 2 other members of the band. He was a man after God's own heart! I am sure the Lord is saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Andrew had battled cancer several years. He was in remission for a while but then cancer reared its ugly head again! We are all hurting so much at this loss, but we are rejoicing with Andrew because he is CANCER FREE and in no pain! And I bet he is playing in the ultimate band! Please pray for Andrew's family, and his girlfriend who has been by him throughout this whole ordeal! Also, please pray for my boys. They are taking it very hard and are going to be playing at his memorial service on Saturday afternoon. Thank you so much!

Now on to Pink Saturday...
This is Petticoat Junction located in the sleepy little railroad town of Normandy, Tennessee...an 1892 Victorian beauty...an all inclusive Retreat House...and just about 20 min. from my home. *insert screams here* We recently learned of its opening when we received an announcement that our Faculty/Staff Christmas party is going to be held here. The owner, Bonnie, a retired teacher herself, had dreamed of opening a "Girls' Retreat" in an old Victorian home. Her dream is coming true! Just take a look.
Petticoat Junction Retreat House and Scrapbooking Haven is the perfect place for a "girl's getaway", wedding/baby showers, church groups, etc. etc. You can rent for a day, a couple of nights, or more. You can reserve it just for special luncheons or teas. Now, with out further ado...here is Petticoat Junction Retreat House in all its glory...

There are 4 bedrooms...I'm only showing the pink ones...but the others are as equally as cute!!

There are two bathrooms.

And I saved the girliest bedroom for last...
OMGosh! TDF!!!

There's a sunroom too!

I can't forget to tell you that you can get pampered too...pedicures and massages!

There are many other rooms that I will share for another post, as they aren't pink. lol
Also, be watching because I will be coming up on my 200th post very soon!

Now, for Beverly's Challenge...
A blog that I visited last week and want to spotlight is "A Charming Home". And Gwendolyn's home is charming for sure! Go by and visit her sweet blog, and tell her I sent you.

Happy Pink Saturday.
Thanks again for the prayers!
Now, go on over to Beverly's to check out more pink posts!

Back Porch Blessings,
Rebecca

So sorry ro hear cancer has taken another one. Debbie's daughter Amy died last night too. It is hard but comforting to know they are home and will no longer feel the pain cancer caused them.
Hugs and prayers for all!

Rebecca, first of all let me say how sorry I am for your loss and that of your sons'. It's awful when a young person dies, and we've also had one of our Pink Saturday ladies lose her daughter. Yesterday must have been a busy day at the gates of heaven. Amy died after a battle with cancer, too, but she is a believer and is right there with the Lord. I just prayed for all of you and the boys' family.

Loved your tour of that beautiful home. What a great place to spend a girls' weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Happy Pink Saturday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hello Rebecca,

I will certainly keep all of you in my prayers. And yes, no more pain or tears for this young man. He will be playing his music and singing for eternity now!

I love, love what this lady has done with the house. How great that it's so close to you. :0) I love how they hung what looks like vintage dresses on the walls...I've had that idea for my bedroom except to use pretty slips.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit..it's so nice to meet another blog neighbor in Tennessee. My Dad is from Nashville...he grew up cat-e-cornered from David Lipscomb college. My Mom is from Crossville and that's where they decided to retire.

I've been trying to get back to my home state of Tennessee for ever it seems but I finally made it back May 1st of this year. It's absolutely beautiful here in the Smoky Mtns. :-)

Do drop by to see me again and I'll do the same!

Hugs,
Stephanie

First of all, I'm very sorry to hear about your friend passing but I'm sure the Lord will say "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." I pray and live my life that He will say those things when my time comes to pass through the veil.

Second, thank you for your visit and kind comments on my blog. I appreciate each and every one and never take them for granted. You might want to check back regularly as I have giveaways every so often...unannounced usually, sugar.

Nice to meet you my sweet chickee friend and I'll be back for sure.

Hi Rebecca, thank you for your Pink Sat. visit. I am late responding because we have been so busy with company.

I am so sad about the loss of Andrew. He is so young to be called to our Lord. I will pray for all those who are suffering his loss. He sounds like a wonderful young man who will be remembered with love by all who knew him.

Your photos and story about Petticoat Junction is very interesting. I hope all of her effort will be a success story. The house looks wonderful. A lovely Pink post.

Blessings, Jeanne

Hi There, So sorry about the young man who died. That cancer is wicked--but like you said, he is NOW cancer-free and with God. My good friend, Susan, is battling cancer---and is NOT pain-free here on earth. I hate that disease.

The Girl's Retreat looks wonderful. That would be a great place for me and my three childhood friends to go sometime.

How's school for you this year? Hope you have stayed away from the flu.
Hugs,
Betsy
