A wonderful place to be...sipping my morning coffee, enjoying a good thunderstorm, Relaxing with my hubby, dinner with my family, hanging out with Maggie, watching the bunnies chase each other.....the list goes on and on!  Welcome to our porch.

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday everyone.

I have been under the weather this week but did make it each day at work since it was the last week of school.  Yippee!!  I went to the doctor yesterday, got a shot, and a z-pack.  Now, I'm just waiting for it to kick in!  So, this post is a bit short today, but I hope you enjoy it just the same.

This is a crown that I made for our Literacy Leader at school.  I presented it to her last summer at our reading conference.  She wore it to the dinner for Literacy Leaders that night.  So, enjoy Sherrie's crown.  {sorry the pic is a bit blurry}

Today is a special Pink Saturday because it is Beverly's 1 Year Anniversary of Pink Saturday!
Be sure you go by Beverly's to check out all the other wonderful Pink Participants.
Hope you all have a lovely Pink Day!
Blessings,
Rebecca

Quaint Southern Charm

Whether it's a day of junquing and antiquing, visiting the arts and crafts festival, or dinner at the Bell Buckle Cafe, the 40 min. drive is well worth it!  I'm talking about the small town of Bell Buckle, Tennessee.  Recently my hubby and I had dinner at the cafe.  while that was a treat in itself...the best part was that our youngest son, Blake, and his friend Matt were playing music here that night.  They had been invited to play there to showcase their Christian rock band, Raimah. {Above pictures: Blake and Matt}.  We stayed and  helped close up this little one-horse town, and took a little stroll after dark passed the little shops.  So today, I thought I'd share with you the little town of Bell Buckle.  So come along and take a stroll with me through this quaint little town.

Nestled among the hills, farmland, and Walking Horse country, Bell Buckle is a railroad village of preserved and restored Victorian homes and churches.  The Webb School, a world-renowned college preparatory boarding and day school, is within walking distance.

The little town was established in 1852 and has become well known for antiques, quilts, handmade crafts, country music, and good ole' home cooking.  You will experience pure southern charm and hospitality during your stay.  Thousands of visitors pay a visit to this charming little town, enjoying its shops, eateries, and annual events and festivals.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed our little stroll through this quiet little town.  Hope you can pay a real visit to Bell Buckle some day.  You won't be disappointed!

Now, to get you ready for your visit to the south, I thought I'd help you learn the language a little better, so you won't stick out like a sore thumb.
Youn't to?  K.
Here we go...

Now we are just going over there a piece:  small distance
Where you ask?  Well, over yonder:  over there
We're fixin' to eat some dinner.:  about to
What kind of coke ya want?--any soft drink
Co-cola:  Coca~Cola
sump'n:  something
I yousta do that.:   a past frequentative activity
Now don't pitch a hissy fit!  :  a minor fit
Dad gummit or Dad burn it!:  showing disappointment or frustration

Well, that should get you by for a bit.
I hope you had fun learning these quaint southernisms.

Happy Pink Saturday

Hello everyone! Welcome to another Pink Saturday!

I am running a bit late today, as Raimah had a concert again last night so we were late getting back home. But it was AWESOME!!!

I have chosen an Etsy find, a few of my favorite creations to share today,as well as, something from my childhood. There is also a giveaway that you MUST SEE!!
So let's get this Pink Saturday Party started!!

What girl doesn't love a pink jewelry box! I found this one on Etsy.

It holds a lot of vintage jewery in my Studio. I loved it so much that I made a banner out of it. :)

This is a Mother's Day tussie that I created for Two Velvet Bunnies. It's still there {and on sale}!

What a sweet little stork box for a mommy-to-be! Check out the little baby bundle that I created.

This is my favorite book as a child! My mother read it over, and over, and over, and over, and over! hee hee It's called Mr. Grabbit. He was a rabbit {yeah, I had a love for bunnies back then too} and he was never satisfied with just one of anything. He learned an important and valuable {and funny} lesson in the end.

***And Check This Out***
The most sweet Lilly Sue has a fabulous giveaway!
You have to check this out!
Be sure you go visit her here!!

OMGosh! I SO WANT THIS *insert screams here*
***GORGEOUS***

Well, that's my pink post for the day. Make sure you make your way over to Beverly's so you can visit all the other Pinkies out there!

My Pink Shelf

On Pink Saturday, I shared my new pink metal shelf with you.  I had several comments and emails about posting what I ended up doing with it.  So, that's what this post is all about.  This pink cutie now hangs in my Two Velvet Bunnies studio.  It is right above my crafting table {because I want to see it when I work}.  It didn't take me long to get it filled!  I just love the results and it is an inspiration.
Hugs and Blessings,

Happy Mother's Day

I would like to wish all you special mothers a very
Happy Mother's Day!

For those with little ones, teenage children, young adults, older adults, and those that have passed on...thank you for giving your time to nuture, love, and care for your sweet ones.

I want to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to my sweet Mom.
I think back to all she has done over the years for us.
When growing up, I had wonderful jumpers and coolots that my mother made for me. My sister and I had the best Barbie clothes because so many were homemade! I always loved the embroidered pillowcases that she made. Homemade baked goods and home cooked sit-down meals at precisely 5:00 were always special. A "June Clever" mom that was there when I got home from school, a house that was always clean, and bedtime stories made childhood special.
I always enjoy the holidays to this day, as she always prepares a spread fit for a king.
We know how you love Paula Deen, so here's one of her cookbooks. Hope you find lots of yummy recipes to try!
Thanks Mom for all you have done and still do!
We are all truly blessed by your gentle nature, care, and concern, and for you always putting us first! I love you!

God Bless You All!
Happy Mother's Day!

Hugs,
Rebecca

Happy Pink Saturday

Hello on this rainy Saturday. It has been raining terribly all week here in the south. I decided to participate in Beverly's Pink Saturday. I thought pink would brighten my day, and hopefully yours too!
Let's take a look.....

Some wonderful pink roses and flowers from my vintage hat collection. {You can find some in my Etsy shop!}

My sweet doggy, Maggie's, 3rd birthday hat that I made.

My favorite pink pin that I made from one of my vintage dolls and jewelry.
The wonderful shabby pink metal shelf that I JUST bought this week from Sarah's {Gypsy Mermaid} blog sale. I can't wait to stock it with vintage treasures!
Yummy pink cupcakes on pink rose dishes.

Hmmm, wonder what I can make with this???

Well, I hope all this pink has brightened your day.
It sure has mine. Now off to do some laundry and work on some goodies for some special Mothers in my life.

Have a blessed day!

Hugs,

Rebecca
