Good morning my blogging friends!
It has gotten even crazier and scarier around here! Read on, and you'll see why!
SECOND WEEK OF SPRING BREAK
My Dad was discharged from the hospital on Monday of my second week of break...and while doing so, my Mom was being admitted in the ER.
My Mom had not been feeling well the week before, but we thought it was exhaustion from so many hospital visits and the stress of my Dad being ill. Little did we know what was about to come! My Mom had double pneumonia and her white blood cell count was 1...that is ONE. Normal is like 5,000! She was in reverse isolation, so we had to wear masks and gloves in her room. After staying at our hospital {and her doctor being on vacation} we decided to get her moved to a bigger hospital in Nashville. They took her by ambulance, and at that point, we didn't know if she would make it there or not. She was SO SICK and giving up! We took my Dad out to see her before they took her because we didn't know if this would be the last time he'd see her or not...we didn't tell him how bad she was for fear of him having another stroke. My Mom made the trip --PRAISE GOD--and is in such good hands there! She has been there for 11 days now. My sister {who lives out of state} came in and was staying at the hospital with Mom, and Daddy is with us. We have been so impressed by the hospital and staff! Her doctors and nurses are awesome! My Mom is on a ventilator but only to keep her still and comfortable while they run many tests. They have her sleeping through this all for days so she isn't aware of what's going on. We had a setback on this past Tuesday when her vitals went all out of whack, but that was corrected pretty quickly. She is stable now, her vitals are good, and her white cell count is coming UP! PRAISE GOD! They are weaning her from the ventilator now, and she's doing fine with that! We will be so happy when she is awake again! The doctors are hitting this thing from all angles and have been on top of everything. They have a few more tests but they strongly believe this was caused from her arthritis meds. They are getting that all out of her system, and she is now making more white blood cells.

My Dad is doing well, but he doesn't know everything that's going on with Mom. We haven't lied to him at all, but we are careful on what information we give him. We just can't risk another possible stroke! He is being a good patient, taking his meds, eating well, and working hard with his PT and Speech Therapist!

Oh my goodness Rebecca! I knew when I hadn't heard from you that something was up. Last I knew your Mom was being admitted, but didn't know what happened after that. I am - I hesitate to say relieved - but am glad it has all been figured out and she is going to be OK. I think you TOTALLY did the right thing by just . . . omitting a few details for your Father. We all know that was done in Love.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your swap. I loved shopping for everything. You are SO EASY TO PLEASE! And I did enjoy making the hanging.
I am praying for you and your family Dear Friend!! All is well now! Keep us updated on Mom's recovery . . . and Dad's as well.
I am off to pace the hospital halls waiting for a baby. But it's a 2 hour drive to get there - let alone in Friday night traffic . . . we'll see. Maybe we'll have a new little bundle of joy to hug when we get there!
Happy Easter! Hugs. Karen

Hi Rebecca..thanks for the visit today. Saying a little prayer for your parents to stay healthy. Wishing you a lovely Easter day filled with blessings..xo Tami
My goodness, your family has had a rough time of it lately. Your stress levels must be through the roof. I will be sure to say a prayer for your Mom and your Dad, who both seem to have a long road to recovery. They are lucky to have such caring and loving children to care for them.
Your box of goodies was wonderful! That bunny is ADORABLE! I hope it helps bring you some sweet Easter cheer and that you and your family all receive many blessings this Easter!
Oh sweetie! What great gifts and crazy times! Hope all are well soon!!
Happy Easter!
Hugs, Lisa
HAPPY BELATED PINK SATURDAY. IT TAKES ME A GOOD WHILE TO GET AROUND TO EVERYBODY.
FIRST...I WILL ADD YOUR MOTHER TO MY PRAYER LIST...I WILL JUST SAY REBECCA'S MOTHER FROM OUR BACK PORCH.
I WILL PAY FOR YOU TO HAVE REST, GRACE, AND MERCY. IT IS SO VERY DRAINING TO BE AT THE HOSPITAL AND WATCH THE ONES WE LOVE SUFFER.
YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO AND LET THE BLOGGERS HOLD YOU ALL UP IN PRAYER.
I AM NEW TO YOUR BLOG BUT I KNOW WHEN PRAYER IS NEEDED. WHEN YOU HAVE TIME COME VISIT ME SOME DAY.
HUGS AND BLESSINGS
