Prairie Chic Cuff Bracelets

I have been admiring the cuff bracelets that I have spied on many blogs and etsy shops.  The secret is...I don't sew.  I don't even own a sewing machine.  In my younger days, my Mom tried to teach me.  I at least was able to sew some straight lines.  So, I guess if I did have a sewing machine, I could have done this...but I don't so I didn't.  LOL

The next best thing for me is the great fabric glue that I have.  I have created many things {successfully, I might add} with this glue.  So, I decided to give it a try.
AND IT WORKED!!!

Ok, so what I did was this.  I took a sweater that was a bit snug, and was going to end up at Good Will or in a yard sale anyway.  I cut the cuffs off of the sweater.  Now, this sweater is my size, so it already fits.

I used the glue to began layering my lace and crochet scraps.  I adore the mixtures of creams, ecru, and whites.

I pulled out some cream/white bits and bobs.  I tried A LOT of combinations until I found one that pleased me.

I picked some vintage millinery flowers from my personal hat garden, and added some here and there.  Once I got everything arranged to my liking, I began to glue them in place.

I made one, and then another.

And then another and another...I was on a roll !!!  LOL

I even made a couple from some "old" button down collar shirts that were ready for GW, as well.

I made a rosette out of the shirt, as well, for this one.

I love the way this one turned out.
So, there is a quick version of the cuff bracelet.

Now, I call mine "Prairie Chic".  If that's not the correct term, please correct me.  What would you call it?

I'm participating in White Wednesday at Faded Charm Cottage.  Head on over and check out all the Wonderful White Wednesday posts.  Thanks to our wonderfully, gracious hostess, Kathleen, for always providing such a fun Wednesday event.

I'm also joining my sweet bloggy friend, Michella at Michella Marie, for her very first Show Me How Friday!

White Jewelry Bits and Bobs

Happy White Wednesday everyone!  Lately, I have taken a great interest in creating repurposed jewelry.  I have seen so many cool pieces from such talented bloggers, that I set out a while back to learn all about it.  One reason I was so excited to find my dress form ~Emma Claire~ was that reason.  She is great to model and display such items.

Here she is with a couple of my creations already.
I love pearl-y type bits and bobs, and I have used some in the first two necklaces.

I am always on the lookout for vintage jewelry {even broken pieces}that might work in one of my creations.

I am always drawn to pearl-y and white type items!
Even buttons work well!

Thanks to Kathleen, our wonderful hostess at Faded Charm.  Be sure to go by and visit the other white participants!

Where I Create!

I am SO excited to be participating in Where Bloggers Create II.  I didn't participate last year, so I am looking forward to sharing my creative space with others, as well as, see SO many talented blogger's studios!

So, lets take a walk down the long hall to the place where I create.  Straight ahead is the master bedroom, however, we are going to make a right before we get that far.  Here we are at the door to my studio.
Now, I must tell you that this is one day going to be a nursery for grandbabies.  We actually have a fourth bedroom, but while the boys are still at home, that is their music studio.  When they move out, then that studio will become my studio...and then a nursery will be ready for a grandbaby, some day.

Anyway, let's open the door and go inside...
So, just wander around and check everything all out.

So there you have it.  However, on the opposite wall is my computer where I create pixel art for Whimsical Beginnings.  Above the computer desk is lots of cabinets.  I have removed the cabinet doors and have plans making curtains for them.
Thanks for stopping by to visit my small, but sweet, studio.  Be sure to visit Karen here to see a list of other participants.  Also, go over by Beverly's for lots of sweet Saturday pinkness!
And be sure to check out my Give~Away.  It is at the end of this post.

Happy creating and Happy Pink Saturday!
Back Porch Blessings,
Rebecca
