Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day everyone. I hope that you have a sweet day surrounded by your family and lots of love!

It's Show and Tell Sunday once again.

Our task this week is to show and tell about our mother. So sit back and relax because I am going to share my very special Mom!

*Caring*Giving*Selfless*Amazing*Strong*

These are words that describe my mother. Her life has been a hard one, but she ALWAYS comes out of top!
While in the 4th grade, she lost her Daddy. This meant that her stay-at-home Mom would have to go out and earn a living for the family. Since my mother was the oldest, she was thrown into the role of mother for her two younger siblings, a sister and a brother. She had to cook the meals and take care of the kids.....something that she has now done for most of her life. She was a stay-at-home Mom while my sister and I were growing up. She actually had June Clever beat!! The house was always spotless and a HUGE meal was on the table every night at precisely 5:00 when my Daddy got home from work. My mother is an amazing (old-timey) cook, and with any meal she prepares, there is a variety and abundance of food.....still to this day!
She always canned tomatoes, kraut, beans, jams, and jellies. I remember loving to help her break beans or shuck corn! She sewed many of our clothes, and always made sure we had what we needed. She never did anything for herself, the extra money was always spent on us girls.
I said that my Mom's life was hard, but that wasn't just due to her childhood. She has had numerous surgeries throughout the years. The first surgery she had was when I was in the seventh grade and since then I can't even count all the surgeries she has had. But she keeps on going, doing what she loves best.....Cooking! She and my Dad still live in the house where we moved to when I was in 6th grade, and she still cooks them huge meals everyday. At every holiday, there is quite the spread! She makes sure that she prepares every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild's favorite dish! She doesn't realize how talented she is, but she is truly amazing! Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you so much!

Thank you for reading about my very special Mom! I wish each of you Moms out there a very special day!
Analise is hosting this one, so be sure to visit her blog for the other participants!

Rebecca, this is a very sweet post about and you are so very blessed to have a mother such as yours! Nothing is sweeter than to hear of mother's who still are involved so directly with their family and who do things despite their aches and pains. Love the pictures, too.
