Virtual Wedding Party!

Saucy is hosting a Virtual Wedding Party today. We are to share something about our wedding or a wedding we've been in. I have chosen to share my Valentine Wedding.

Kenny and I dated for 1 1/2 years before we married. By the time we got engaged, we had seven months to plan our Valentine's Day wedding. We chose red, as it is both of our favorite color, and the traditional Valentine color. It was beautiful if I do say so myself. Here is one of our wedding pics.
This is one of my favorite wedding photos! Gotta love the 80's hair and Kenny's full beard! hee hee

Here's my wedding gown, 21 years later. I pulled it out of my cedar chest to snap a pic for ya. I really do need to get it sealed.

Here's a pic of my train. It has all the ruffles that the neckline has. Gotta love those frilly frills! LOL
Closeup of the waistline. Sure wish I could still fit into it! LOL

I opted for silk flowers. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE real flowers, but I wanted this as a keepsake. The bouquet base has pearls and crystals. Can't you just see this on my 50th Anniversary table in the distant future!?

This is my ring pillow. My sweet little boy, Brandon (age 4 1/2 then, almost 26 now) carried this! So special!

Kenny and I both love the color red, and with it being Valentine's Day, it was perfect. We got engaged 7 months before our wedding but I didn't get my ring until Christmas Day before the wedding. He came to my parents' home for Christmas morning and he put my ring in my breakfast drink. LOL Thank goodness I didn't swallow it! hee hee It was awesome! When Kenny told me he wanted to marry me, he told me he wanted to be Brandon's father too. I knew he was the one for sure!! On our beautiful wedding day, we exchanged rings, and Brandon got a ring also. It was so cute! He was so proud. Ofcourse Kenny adopted Brandon, and 9 months, 9 days later, our sweet little Blake (now 20) was born! I have to say that I love this man more and more each day. He is always there for me, and takes care of us soooo well!

Well, there ya go. I hope you enjoyed my wedding memories and pics of things from my wedding on Valentine's Day 1987. Thanks for visiting! Be sure to visit Saucy's blog to see the other wedding participants!!

Hugs and Blessings,
Rebecca

Look at those ruffles. You look lovely and calm - I don't know how women pull that off...

Beautiful picture! No silk flowers for me, even my bridesmaid had a real bouquet. At least you will have those forever and it will be nice to have them on your 50th :)

Lovely. I love that Brandon was included. The bouquet will be lovely on your anniversary table, but why wait until 50?

That bit about Kenny wanting to be Blake's dad, and him getting his own ring made me tear up a little. (And wow -- those ruffles!)
