Sneak Peek*Pink & Green Swap*

I just LOVE swaps!  You are able to really get to know other bloggers and make new friends!  I am participating in Sarah's {Gypsy Mermaid's} Pink and Green Swap.  What fun this has been!

My swap partner is Wendy, and she is the sweetest!  She lives in Florida with her sweet little family.  We have emailed each other and gotten to know each other.  I hope to keep in touch with her after the swap!

Well, you already know that the swap is about Pink and Green.  It can be anything that we collect or use for crafts that is pink and green.  I have Wendy's goodies all ready to be sent tomorrow so I thought I'd give you a *sneak peek*!  You know the drill~ lol~ I'll post all of her goodies when she receives her package.

Hope you have a pink filled day!

*Flower Gardening and A Finished Project*

I love SPRING!  Mostly, I love working with my flowers!
I thought I'd share some of them with you.  I just LOVE puttering around in my flower gardens, so I have many more plans for them!

I love impatiens and double impatiens.
Daylilies and hibiscus are high on my list too!
There will be many other kinds that will show up in my flower gardens by summer!
What kind of flowers do you enjoy?
A few posts back, I shared my newest acquistion...the big ugly yellow dresser.  Well, after some work and painting, here is my "new" old black dresser-gone-sideboard.  I LOVE it!  It is a perfect fit and look for my dining room!  It also lends much-needed space as well!

*AFTER*

The weather is so lovely here, and is suppose to be all weekend, so I am going to go enjoy some time outdoors.  Hope you enjoy a lovely weekend too!
Flowery Blessings,
Rebecca

Day of Rest

What a busy week we have had.  I have given TCAP {state achievement tests} to my students all week.  I was proud of them for working hard, as it is a stressful week!  We've had fun activities in the afternoons though, so that helped!

Kenny and I have been busy around the house.   Remember the cabinets in this post {here}?  We got the kitchen cabinets finished.   I'll show you soon what we have done.

It's going to be a busy week, and this Thursday is my night to host our April BUNCO.  I am so excited about that!  But for now, on this rainy Sunday afternoon, I'm going to enjoy the showers from here.  I just love my rocking chairs on my porch.

Ahhhhh...off to relax!  Enjoy your afternoon!

Lessons Learned and TAG! You're It!

Everything I Need To Know...
I Learned From The Easter Bunny

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Walk softly and carry a big carrot.
Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
There's no such thing as too much candy.
All work and no play, makes you a basket case.
A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention.
Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.
Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.
Some body parts should be floppy.
Keep your paws off of other people's jelly beans.
Good things come in small sugarcoated packages.
The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.
An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.
To show your true colors, you have to come out of your shell.
The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

Good Friday and A Prayer

Hope you are having a nice Good Friday.  While I was happy to have the day off of work, I am focused more on what today means.  Because of Jesus and the cross, I am forgiven.  Thank you Jesus for loving me and thinking of me, even though I don't deserve it.

What a day this has been!  I was going to be posting earlier today, but the weather took a rough turn!  Severe weather and tornadoes ripped through middle Tennessee.  For a few hours, we couldn't reach my niece {and great niece} in their town where three tornadoes demolished their subdivision and ripped across the interstate!  Praise be to God!  They are ok!!  My niece saw the tornado coming, ran next door, grabbed her little girl, and got back to their house before it hit two streets away!  We have been watching coverage all day, when we weren't taking shelter, and can't believe the devastation that has hit Murfreesboro!  My heart goes out to these people.  Thank goodness there have only been two fatalities, but sure wish there wasn't even those.  It was a young mother and a nine weeks old baby.  I had some friends there shopping today, as most everyone had the day off, and they were in lock down mode at Barnes and Noble and other stores.  So glad they made it back home {45 min. away} safely!  My heart breaks for these people.  Please say a prayer for the people of Murfreesboro as they deal with the aftermath of this disaster.
God Bless You All On This Good Friday!

It's Looking Like.....SNOW?????

What a lovely weekend!  Maggie and I enjoyed some time in the yard this weekend.  We have had such wonderful spring days lately.  Just take a look.....

{OK!  No making fun of my second toe being longer than my first.  And boy, I need a pedicure!  hee hee}

But today, I heard the "s" word on more than one occasion, and I just heard it again.....from the weatherman!  Yep, you guessed it if you said S*N*O*W!  WHAT???  Yikes!!  This is crazy!  I don't think there will any accumulation, but can you imagine waiting alllll winter for a snow day, and then finally get one.....in APRIL?????  This is totally nuts!  Actually, it has already been sleeting outside already, so we shall see.  How's your weather?  I hope you are enjoying some springlike weather!

Fab Find Friday--My Next Project-- and SWAPS!

This week was our first week back after a two week break.  I was glad to get back into the classroom and hear all about my students' time off!  But boy, was it ever hard those first few days back, trying to get back into the regular routine.  I always say I'm going to do better over break, but I always sleep in and stay up way too late.  Oh well, I guess that's what break is for.  I decided to give myself a little pick-me-up this week, so on Wed. I headed on over to my favorite antique mall.  I was a little disappointed that parts of the mall were closed due to renovations, but happy to know that there would be some great things happening there soon!  So, I looked around the first floor and did find a few small purchases.  It was a great time and a good pick-me-up on hump day of the first week back.  Here are my treasures...  The vintage red tin handled box {above} and red vintage jewelry box {above}.
*Needlepoint Picture*  I LOVE this, especially the red frame!
*Child's little red table*  I adore this!
Look at it upclose!  Sweet!
*Precious  vintage Children's Birthday Cards*

Then I found out that other parts of the mall would be opened back up by the end of the week, so I headed back there yesterday, Friday.  When I got there, I headed upstairs to have a look around.  I had visited several booths and then turned a corner.  Something--huge--caught my eye at the back of a booth!  It was this.....

I looked at a few things as I made my way to the dresser.  I looked it over, and then took a looksy at the price tag.  OMGosh!  Is this right??  The price tag said $65.  Could it really be??  So I went downstairs to ask Betty, the storekeeper, to go up and take a look for me.  She said, "Surely not $65 but she would give it a look."  "IT IS!", I heard her exclaim coming down the stairs.  I said, "SOLD!"  I told her my hubby would be back tomorrow to pick it up.
AND HE JUST DID!

Take a look at my Fabulous Friday Find and next project!

Mags gave her approval, so I guess we'll keep it!  hee hee
So, I don't really have a finished project to show this week, but the beginnings of one that I will show soon!!  I am going to be painting it "my" black color for my dining room.  I will use it as a sideboard.  What'd ya think?
And now, on to more news...

~SWAPS~

There's a new swap that I have joined.  I'll tell you about that second.  But first, I have something else for you.  Here is what I promised to show you.  These are the things that I sent to Julie for our Easter swap.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.  It looks like it will prove to be a pretty one here.
